NCBI is calling all challengers for virtual Move Into The Light event

NCBI (National Council for the Blind of Ireland) is calling on all challengers who are interested in participating in our Move Into The Light event this March. Move Into The Light runs over 30 days in March. They’re asking participants to complete 30 minutes of exercise over the course of each day.

What exercise do you have to do? Whatever you want! Walk, run, cycle or swim – the world is your oyster! The 30-day challenge offers the perfect opportunity to fundraise for NCBI. This enables them to provide vital services in addition to support for 55,000 people across Ireland living with sight loss.

Every person who signs up will receive a free Move Into The Light t-shirt, as well as a dedicated sponsorship pack.

Joanne McCarney, NCBI Fundraising Executive, said:

We can’t wait to kick off Move Into The Light this March alongside all of our lovely participants who can register right now. By taking part you are setting aside a chunk of time to reflect on life. But you are also ticking off your good deed. This is through directly helping to fund NCBI’s life changing services for people who are blind or vision impaired. Therefore, we look forward to keeping an eye on everyone’s progress and we’ll see you all at the finish line!’

June Tinsley, Head of Advocacy and Communications, added:

‘We love the idea of engaging the public through events like Move Into The Light. NCBI’s essential services depend on the generosity of people all over Ireland and through this event we hope to be able to offer a moment of fun in return. We look forward to seeing the pictures, videos and more from everyone taking part.’
