The 2022 Charter Meeting takes place today at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, marking the annual celebration of the granting of the Royal Charter to the College in 1784. Usually held in the month of February, this year’s meeting was delayed due to COVID-19. This Charter Meeting is the first to include in-person sessions since the pandemic began.
The overall theme of this year’s meeting is ‘The Career of the Surgeon’, framed by key sessions such as ‘So you want to be a surgeon’ for medical students, a symposium on the ‘New shape of a surgical career’ and a discussion on the ‘Late career Surgeon’.
