Endometriosis: An Overview

Endometriosis is a chronic, progressive, inflammatory disease where tissue similar to the lining of the womb is found elsewhere in the body. The disease is estimated to affect 10% (190 million) girls, women and individuals assigned female at birth worldwide.

In Ireland it is estimated that 155,000 of women are affected by endometriosis.
