Hospital Professional Awards 2019 – a celebration of innovation and excellence
It was months in the planning and in the end it was worth waiting for.
The Hospital Professional Awards showcased the extraordinary talent and hard work which hospital professionals throughout Ireland are undertaking everyday with an evening of celebration at the Carton House Hotel, Kildare.
The awards champion excellence in all aspects of the secondary care sector and have proven to be an industry highlight, with more than 350 attending the glittering awards ceremony.
The 2019 awards attracted a record number of applications from the largest ever number of hospitals and our specially selected panel of expert and independent judges were impressed by the overall standard as they selected the winners across the 16 categories.
Comedian Colm O’Regan hosted the awards and brought a sense of order and professionalism to the evening, which also featured top-class entertainment and excellent food.
HPN editor Jonny McCambridge addressed the crowd when he explained the ethos behind the HPAs.
He said: “Even to be nominated is a fantastic achievement and every person in attendance tonight should be very proud.
“These awards are a recognition of excellence and best practice throughout the secondary care sector and feature countless examples of how that excellence has led to improvements in patient care. We have been deeply impressed by the standard. I know, from speaking to hospital professionals, that they are always modest and always say that they are just doing their job and this is what they do every day.
“But these awards are the recognition that what you do every day is amazing and vital and that should never be forgotten.’
Jonny also paid tribute to all of the staff at IPN Communications who had worked hard to make the awards a success, as well as the panel of judges who gave up their time to select the winners, and to the award sponsors whose support is vital.
But the biggest thank-you was for those who took the time to enter and to ensure that the HPAs continue to go from strength to strength.
