Minister for Mental Health Mary Butler has announced a €3 million investment in mental health research, including a new all-island collaborative research network.
The combined use of seclusion, physical restraint and mechanical restraint in Irish mental health centres has fallen to its lowest level on record, according to a new Mental Health Commission report covering activity in 2024.
